Elizabeth Belasco, PhD and Kathrin Poole, LCSW accompanied Dr. Charles Flood as part of the tsunami relief effort. Dr. Belasco has worked in counseling with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in New York helping family members and others cope with the trauma of losing family members and friends on September 11, 2001. Kathrin originally worked in the Crisis Care Service at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia where she and Dr. Flood formed a counseling program for family members after sudden death in the Emergency Unit. All three applied their extensive knowledge to provide emotional relief to survivors of the December 26, 2004 tsunami.
Dr. Flood kept a journal, both written and photographic, of his experiences and work in Sri Lanka.
